Samangan fulfilled all the hopes invested in him at the beginning of the year when holding the desperate late thrust of Division to land the Aug. 9 Prix Maurice de Gheest (G1) at Deauville.

Sun Goddess became the first Ballydoyle-based filly to win the Aug. 9 Phoenix Stakes (G1), justifying 5-4 favoritism without too much fuss.
