Gina-Maria Schumacher captures back to back NRBC Non Pro Classic Championships

Gina-Maria Schumacher captured the National Reining Breeders Classic (NRBC) Non Pro Championship in 2023 on Gunnastepya, last weekend, she did it again on Gunin Addy Tude.

Schumacher, from Givrins Switzerland, purchased the horse in 2021 when he was a three-year-old and keeps him at her family’s ranch in Gordonville, Texas. Schumacher then piloted him to the 2021 National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Futurity Reserve Championship, and a paycheck of over $40,000.

Gunin Addy Tude (Gunnatrashya x Miss Lil Addy Tude x Whizard Jac) and Schumacher landed in a tie for third place at the NRHA Derby in 2023 with a big score of 221. There, the pair earned $10,471.

He then attended the NRBC in 2023 and was ridden by XCS Ranch Trainer Duane Latimer. With a show record already over $50,000 according to EquiStat, the young stallion didn’t get another chance to add to that number until this spring.

2024 NRBC

Schumacher finished seventh on Gunin Addy Tude during the prelims with a score of 219, she placed higher on CS Nifty Sailor (Gotta Nifty Gun x La Bigia Sailor x Frozen Sailor). The EquiStat Elite $1 Million Rider often returns to the finals in major events, with two horses at many shows.

Although her finals run on CS Nifty Sailor wasn’t as strong as planned, Schumacher and Gunin Addy Tude did not disappoint. Their 222.5 topped Reserve Champion Addisyn Schmersal on TA Dunit Redhot (Pale Face Dunnit x Redhot Walla x Walla Walla Whiz) by a half point and doubled the stallion’s lifetime earnings. The two took home a check for $50,000 bringing his earnings to $104,013.

His dam, Miss Lil Addy Tude, has produced the earners of more than $700,000.
