A rainy Saturday afternoon did not put a damper on the March 16 Marketplace at Ardmore online performance horse auction. The sale feature, Cowan Ranch LLC’s Reduction Sale, boasted one hundred percent sold. An overall average of $20,100, and ninety seven percent sold was reported.
“This was our second-highest grossing online sale, and certainly the most solid of any held to date,” sale manager Susie Reed commented.
Based on presale inquiries, it was no surprise the broodmare packages were the standouts. Sires represented for the broodmares included: WR This Cats Smart, Hottish, Bet Hesa Cat, Cats Merada, Smart Aristocrat, Hashtags, High Brow Cat, Dual Reyish, Dual Smart Rey and Metallic Cat. Mares were bred to, or had a foal at side by NRR Cat King Cole, Reyzin The Cash, Smooth Talkin Style, CR Gotcha Covered, and one sold with a rebreed to Dual Reyish.
Volume buyer was Kutter Weatherby, Dragoon, AZ who placed the winning bid on five head.
“We want to recognize and thank all the bidders and buyers who participated in our twenty second online auction. And of course, thanks to all our consignors – with special acknowledgement to Jack and Sherry Cowan, Payson, AZ who trusted us with sixteen head. We sold every single one,” said Reed.
