Broodmares in demand at July 27 Marketplace at Ardmore Auction

The Marketplace at Ardmore held their most recent online performance horse auction on July 27. Sale manager Susie Reed welcomed new and repeat buyers while she watched two broodmares top the sale, and realized an overall average of $24,929.

High seller, A Smooth Satin Doll (Smooth As A Cat x Autumn Boon x Dual Pep) topped the sale at $108,000. Consigned by Crow Performance Horses, this 2012 sorrel mare is winner of $55,153, and sold bred to EquiStat Elite $3 Million Sire Dont Stopp Believin along with two embyos by Stevie Rey Von. Her buyer was Troy Applegate.

Crow Performance Horses also consigned the second highest seller. Royalty And Cats (One Time Royalty x Cat In A Cradle x High Brow Cat) is a 2015 sorrel mare and winner of $72,962. She sold bred to the EquiStat Elite $10 Million Sire Stevie Rey Von with a Badboonarising colt at her side. Henry Link placed the winning bid of $64,000.

Frequent consignor Todd Nelson offered the 3-year-old sorrel mare Trick Cat by High Brow Cat, and out of $500,000 producer Trick Pepto (by Peptoboonsmal). Macy Ferrari sealed the deal with a bid of $37,000.

“We are happy to report after the last lot sold on Saturday afternoon, we were left with lots of appreciative consignors and happy buyers – always our goal,” said Reed.

The next Marketplace at Ardmore sale is slated for Saturday, September 27. Consignment forms are available online.
